About this role
Michels Construction, Inc. is looking for someone to bridge estimating and project management on heavy civil infrastructure work—highways, bridges, tunnels, airports, and railways across North America. You'd own the full lifecycle: preparing estimates to win work, then managing budgets, schedules, and day-to-day execution through project completion. The role demands accuracy under pressure, independent judgment, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships while coordinating teams in the field.
This is best suited to someone with at least five years of concrete or heavy civil estimating experience, ideally with exposure to earthwork, utilities, roadway, or site development projects. You'll need a bachelor's degree in construction management or equivalent, proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software like HCSS or B2W, and negotiation skills. Travel to jobsites and pre-bid meetings is expected, and a valid driver's license with a clean record is required.
Michels is family-owned, invests significantly in employee training, and offers a full benefits package including health, dental, 401(k), and disability coverage. The Seattle position is in-office and full-time, with a salary range of $115,000 to $173,000 based on your background and qualifications.
