About this role
Working as a lifeguard at the YMCA in Pasadena puts you on the front line of member safety and aquatic program delivery. You'll monitor swimmers during all operating hours, respond to water emergencies, maintain pool chemistry and cleanliness, and set up equipment for lessons and events. The role demands constant attention and quick decision-making, balanced with friendly engagement when members aren't in immediate need of supervision.
This position suits someone with current lifeguard certification and CPR/AED/First Aid credentials who can work flexible hours across days, nights, and weekends. You'll report to the Swim Director, complete required training including child abuse prevention before your first shift, and demonstrate the reliability and clear communication that supervision requires. The YMCA emphasizes mission-driven work and inclusive community values, so the role appeals most to people genuinely motivated to help others and contribute to something beyond themselves.
The position is full-time, based in Annapolis, Maryland, with a salary range of $15 to $18 per hour.
