About this role
Working as a Lifeguard at the YMCA's Arnold location means being the primary safety presence at the pool during all operating hours. You'll monitor swimmers, enforce pool rules, respond to water emergencies, and maintain the facility's cleanliness and chemical balance according to health codes. The role also involves setting up equipment, engaging positively with members, and supporting the broader YMCA mission of community well-being.
This position suits someone with current lifeguard and CPR/AED/First Aid certifications who can work flexibly across days, evenings, and weekends. You'll need to pass the Y's swim test and complete required training, including child abuse prevention, before starting. The ideal candidate is reliable, communicates clearly, accepts supervision, and is genuinely motivated by the opportunity to help others and contribute to a mission-driven organization.
The role is full-time at $15–17 per hour, based in Annapolis.
