About this role

Millstone Weber, a nearly century-old employee-owned heavy civil contractor, is seeking a Senior Heavy Civil Estimator to join their preconstruction and business development teams in their Englewood, Colorado office. You would support pursuits across the firm's core markets—highway and bridge work, airfield projects, rail transit, and design-build delivery—by leading or contributing to comprehensive estimates that span structures, roadway, concrete paving, grading, and drainage. The role demands hands-on involvement in every phase: interpreting bid documents, performing quantity takeoffs, pricing materials and labor, soliciting and analyzing subcontractor quotes, identifying value engineering opportunities, and ultimately preparing and presenting proposals to DOT, municipal, government, aviation, and railroad clients.

This position suits someone with at least ten years of estimating or project management experience in heavy civil construction, ideally with exposure to both self-perform and subcontracted work across bridges, concrete, foundations, and earthwork. You'll need solid knowledge of federal contracting rules, strong proficiency with MS Office, HCSS estimating software, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools, plus the ability to work independently under tight deadlines while juggling multiple priorities. A civil engineering or construction management degree is preferred, and you must be able to obtain security clearances for airport, railroad, and military facility work.

The role is primarily office-based in Englewood with occasional travel for site visits and meetings. The salary range is $110,000 to $135,000, and you'll work within a team-oriented culture that emphasizes problem-solving and continuous improvement.
