Description

Wallbrook (part of Anthesis Group) is seeking experienced researchers to join our top-ranked global Business Intelligence team. Successful candidates will have proven experience working in a fast-paced research environment, excellent qualitative analytical skills, and a track record of producing high quality research for use in a commercial setting.

Candidates should have a strong knowledge of international and regional business and political environments – and have business proficiency in at least one European language – as well as an innate sense of curiosity about international affairs, business and global markets more generally.

We are looking for specialists to be based out of our office in London.

Key Responsibilities

The exact responsibilities will vary depending on the role offered. However, we broadly look for the below skills when considering applicants for all our positions:

• Manage complex open source and human intelligence-led investigative assignments (including pre-transactional integrity due diligence checks and other bespoke investigations);
• Write concise and cogent reports that weave in research findings with an in-depth contextualized analysis of key issues and other pertinent findings;
• Deliver written and verbal briefings to senior management and clients on research findings;
• Prepare proposals for new business;
• Support the development of our human source network in regions of expertise; and
• Once comfortable with our house style and research methodologies, assist in training new team members and proof reading reports.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential Requirements:

• Fluency reading and writing English in a commercial context and business proficiency in at least one European language. Other languages are a bonus;
• 1-4 years’ full-time post-graduate work experience in the corporate intelligence industry and/or another relevant investigative background;
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience using open source research tools such as LexisNexis and Factiva, as well as regional and language-specific databases and media sources;
• Ability to plan and manage multifaceted research projects from the proposal stage to delivering our work to the client;
• A working knowledge of financial, commercial and legal concepts;
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited university;
• Professional proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite. Candidates should also have demonstrable skills in the following areas:
• A keen interest in international affairs and business, including in Western Europe, and other regions of expertise;
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
• A proactive, can-do mindset and willingness to work outside job specifications when required;
• An ability to thrive under pressure and work to tight deadlines;
• Maintain a high level of professionalism in all areas of work;
• Respond well to development feedback.

About this role

Wallbrook, part of Anthesis Group, is looking for researchers to conduct due diligence investigations and business intelligence work across Western Europe from its London office. The role involves managing open source and human intelligence investigations—primarily pre-transactional integrity checks and bespoke client projects—then synthesizing findings into clear, analytical reports for senior stakeholders. You'll also prepare business proposals, build source networks in your areas of expertise, and eventually mentor newer team members.

The ideal candidate has 1–4 years of post-graduate experience in corporate intelligence, investigative research, or a closely related field. You'll need fluency in English and business-level proficiency in at least one European language, strong familiarity with research tools like LexisNexis and Factiva, and a solid grasp of financial and legal concepts. Beyond technical skills, the role demands excellent written and verbal communication, the ability to manage complex projects independently and collaboratively, and comfort working under pressure to tight deadlines.

This is a hybrid position based in London, suited to someone with genuine curiosity about international affairs and European business environments, who can work methodically through open source research while also developing human intelligence contacts. You should be comfortable receiving feedback and willing to adapt to the firm's house style and processes as you settle in.
