About this role
The City of Liverpool College is recruiting for casual, on-call teaching hours in bank fabrication and welding within its Engineering, Logistics and Green Technologies department. This is a temporary position on a flexible basis, meaning you may be contacted for ad hoc sessions rather than a fixed schedule. The role pays up to £47.39 per hour.
You'll be expected to deliver high-quality teaching across multiple levels, drawing on both theoretical knowledge and practical industry expertise to create engaging learning experiences. Your responsibilities span lesson planning and delivery, assessment and progress tracking, curriculum development in consultation with senior staff, and fostering an inclusive environment where students develop professional engineering skills. You'll also contribute to broader college activities during key periods like enrolment and exams, and engage with parents and students at college events.
To succeed, you'll need a degree-level qualification relevant to the subject area, recent hands-on experience teaching professional construction or engineering courses, and a teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one. Strong computer literacy, current professional development engagement, and excellent communication skills are essential. Familiarity with BIM or Revit is desirable, as is membership of a relevant professional body. Given the bank contract nature, be prepared for variable availability and the possibility of a delayed first contact after application.
