About this role
The Registration Investigations Team at the Nursing and Midwifery Council manages a broad range of registration concerns—from initial applications and readmissions through to cases of fraudulent entry and misuse of protected titles. As an RIT Investigator, you would own a mixed caseload, gathering and analysing information to support decision-making by the Investigating Committee and Assistant Registrar. This is frontline regulatory work with direct impact on the NMC's core mission to protect the public and maintain the integrity of the nursing and midwifery register.
The role demands strong casework management skills and meticulous attention to detail. You'll need solid IT proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe), excellent written communication, and the ability to prioritise your own workload independently to meet deadlines while handling complex information accurately. The position is based in London on a hybrid arrangement—two days per week in the office, three days remote—and is offered on a full-time basis at a salary of £32,249–£38,529. The NMC offers 30 days annual leave, enhanced pension contributions starting at 8%, life insurance, and other benefits including cycle to work and season ticket loans.
One practical note: the role is described as flexible, meaning you may move between teams as workload requires, though your terms and conditions remain unchanged. Both fixed-term and permanent opportunities are available, with interviews scheduled for late October 2026.
