About this role
Acorn Training Ltd is seeking an Employer Partnership Manager to drive employment outcomes for young people on the Youth Guarantee programme. Based in Burton, Michigan, this hybrid role sits at the intersection of employer engagement and participant support—you'll spend most of your time building and maintaining relationships with employers across sectors, sourcing quality vacancies and placements, and matching participants to genuine opportunities. Success means developing a strong pipeline of employers, understanding their workforce needs deeply, and creating sustainable employment pathways for 18–25 year olds.
The role requires someone with proven recruitment or employer engagement experience who can operate comfortably in both directions: selling the benefits of the Youth Guarantee to employers while also profiling participants, identifying their barriers and aspirations, and supporting them through job matching and onboarding. You'll coordinate between employers, participants, Jobcentre Plus and support services, handle in-work monitoring to ensure retention, and maintain accurate records against contractual outcomes. This is not a desk-based admin role—it demands strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, the ability to manage multiple employer and participant pipelines simultaneously, and a track record of converting conversations into placements.
Essential qualifications include GCSE English and Maths, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, and a solid understanding of safeguarding with young people. You'll need demonstrable experience in recruitment, sales, account management or employment services, plus knowledge of local labour markets and employer practices. Desirable but valuable additions include Level 3 qualifications in employability or youth work, IAG training, experience with apprenticeships and traineeships, and familiarity with DWP-funded programmes.
