  • Draft and manage RFPs, ITTs, and contract documentation; oversee bid evaluations and lead contract award negotiations with contractors, consultants, and key suppliers.
  • Manage the full variation and change control process, assessing contractor submissions for scope, time, and cost impact and providing commercial recommendations to the project team.
  • Evaluate, negotiate and settle contractor claims, including EOT requests, delay damages, loss and expense claims, and final accounts, in accordance with the dispute resolution provisions of the FIDIC contract.
  • Maintain robust contract administration records, including correspondence logs, RFI tracking, instruction records, and claims files to ensure full audit trail compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks at pre- and post-award stages, collaborating with legal, finance, engineering, and project management teams to embed contractual requirements into project governance.
  • Ensuring that the client/team adheres to the contractual obligations and advising on the contractual steps and procedures under the FIDIC and the client's requirements.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs and commercial reporting to track contract performance, cost variances, programme compliance, and risk exposure.

About this role

RLB Digital is recruiting a Senior Contract Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract to manage the commercial and contractual side of data centre construction and infrastructure programmes. You would oversee the entire contract lifecycle—from pre-award strategy and tender documentation through to claims settlement and final accounts—with a focus on FIDIC contracts and hyperscale projects. The role demands strict adherence to FIDIC conditions, accurate and timely issuance of contractual notices and payment certificates, and skilled navigation of variation orders, change control, and contractor claims across complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

This position suits someone with substantial hands-on experience administering FIDIC contracts (Red, Yellow, or Silver Book) and a track record in data centre, construction, or critical infrastructure delivery. You should hold or be actively pursuing professional qualification such as CIPS or FIDIC-accredited training. Experience managing claims, Extensions of Time, and final accounts on large capital programmes is essential; experience with hyperscale data centre projects, EPC or Design & Build strategies, and other contract frameworks like NEC or JCT is valued but not required.

Based in Amsterdam on a hybrid arrangement, the role offers a salary of €70,000–€100,000 and sits within an employee-owned firm that emphasizes continuous learning, mentoring, professional development support, and flexible working. The 12-month duration makes this suitable if you're seeking a defined-term assignment in a specialized infrastructure sector.
