We are searching for a strategic community management and operations expert to join the International Community team and help grow Reddit outside of the US. As an integral part of the International Growth team, this role plays a key role in helping Reddit realize its mission: bringing community and belonging to everyone in the world.

This contract engagement is open to candidates based in the Netherlands.

As the Community Manager, you will be at the forefront of jumpstarting and fostering local communities. You will be an expert of the Dutch market, proficient in English and Dutch, and focused on proactive initiatives to build bridges with local volunteer moderators and innovate, iterate, refine, and scale our international consumer playbook. The insights derived from your relationships and experiments will help accelerate our growth in the market.

What you will do:
  • Gain a deep understanding of the market to identify user and local moderator challenges, and market opportunities.
  • Iterate, innovate, and scale the consumer growth playbook by recognizing new opportunities, suggesting bold ideas and programs, and persuading internal teams to align on new plans.
  • Build strategic plans to cultivate, recruit, educate, and grow a local community of moderators (i.e., volunteers who develop, maintain, and shape the culture of local communities). Implement a conversion funnel designed to onboard power users and external creators, transforming them into active moderators.
  • Communicate quantitative and qualitative insights to optimize and improve the international consumer growth playbook.
  • Be obsessive about achieving aggressive goals and outcomes.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, set KPIs, and execute impactful community initiatives: leverage data to uncover community and moderator insights that will influence the direction of the local team in the market.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Community, Engineering, Marketing, Safety, and BD teams.
What We Can Expect From You:
  • 5+ years of community development, project management, growth, operations, or product consulting experience with a track record of community-led projects that have driven business impact.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Dutch culture, including current events, politics, customs, traditions, language, topics of interest, and taboos.
  • Nuanced comprehension of the digital landscape and the cultural intricacies inherent within it, including awareness of internet culture specific to the Netherlands and an appreciation for the diverse cultural facets shaping contemporary Dutch society.
  • Succinct and persuasive communicator: able to collaborate effectively across internal teams, local users, moderators, partners, content creators, influencers, etc.
  • Results-obsessed: demonstrates outstanding execution and high attention to detail.
  • Deep interest in developing and driving projects, framing issues and seeking solutions, testing hypotheses, and iterating on process improvements.
  • Proficiency in Dutch & English.

In select roles and locations, the interviews will be recorded, transcribed and summarized by artificial intelligence (AI). You will have the opportunity to opt out of recording, transcription and summarization prior to any scheduled interviews.

During the interview, we will collect the following categories of personal information: Identifiers, Professional and Employment-Related Information, Sensory Information (audio/video recording), and any other categories of personal information you choose to share with us. About this role

Reddit is looking for a Dutch-speaking community manager to help establish and grow its presence in the Netherlands market. This is a contract role based remotely, focused on understanding the local digital landscape and building relationships with volunteer moderators who shape Reddit communities. You'd be responsible for identifying market opportunities, designing strategies to recruit and educate moderators, and running experiments to test what works—then scaling successful approaches across the platform.

The role demands someone with at least five years in community development, operations, growth, or related work, plus genuine expertise in Dutch culture, internet culture, and current events. You'll need to be equally comfortable analyzing data and setting KPIs as you are persuading internal teams and engaging with local creators and moderators. Fluency in both Dutch and English is essential, as is the ability to work cross-functionally with product, safety, marketing, and other teams to drive measurable business impact.

This suits someone who is results-driven, intellectually curious about how communities function, and genuinely interested in the Netherlands specifically—not just any market. You'll be testing ideas, iterating quickly, and pushing for aggressive growth targets while staying grounded in what actually resonates locally.
