Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company
Join BILL as a Product Manager on our Risk Product team and help shape how customers and employees experience risk at BILL. Every day, legitimate businesses hit a verification step, a payment hold, a limit, or a review. Our Risk Product team owns both sides of that moment: the customer-facing Risk Experiences that explain what is happening and get customers moving again, and Risk Central, the fraud monitoring and case management platform that Risk Operations rely on to review alerts across AP, AR, and Spend & Expense.
In this role, you'll own a defined part of the Risk Experiences and Risk Central roadmap, taking features and workflows from problem definition through launch and iteration while partnering closely with design, engineering, risk operations, and risk strategy. Your work will make risk moments clear and quick for the SMBs who rely on BILL to pay vendors, collect from customers, and manage spend, and will help analysts review cases faster and with fewer errors, so fewer legitimate customers get held up and fewer fraudulent accounts get through.
Responsibilities:
- Own a defined area of the Risk Experiences and Risk Central roadmap, such as customer verification and document collection flows, hold and review notifications, self-service resolution, analyst queues, or case workflows, from discovery through launch and iteration.
- Design customer-facing risk experiences that reduce friction, confusion, and drop-off for legitimate businesses while holding the line on fraud, partnering with design on flows, messaging, and in-product communication.
- Write clear product requirements, user stories, success metrics, and rollout plans that engineering teams can build from.
- Partner with risk operations, customer support, and risk strategy to understand where customers get stuck and how analysts work, and turn both into prioritized improvements.
- Drive day-to-day execution with engineering across sprint planning, dependency tracking, and launch readiness, including consolidating legacy case workflows into Risk Central.
- Define and track metrics for your area, including customer-side measures such as verification completion, time to resolution, and support contact rate, and operations measures such as review time, error rates, and queue backlog, balanced against fraud loss and false positives.
- Draft a half-year roadmap proposal for your area and raise risks early, with options for how to handle them.
- Use data, customer research, and analyst feedback to decide what to build next, running before and after analysis on every release.
- Use AI tools in your daily work for research, writing, and analysis, and help evaluate where automation or agents can resolve customer cases faster or remove manual analyst steps.
We'd love to chat if you have:
- 2+ years of product management experience shipping software with engineering and design teams, including owning a feature or workflow end to end.
- Experience shipping customer-facing product experiences, including working with design and research to improve a multi-step flow.
- Experience writing product requirements, user stories, and success metrics that teams can build from without heavy rework.
- Comfort using data to size problems and measure outcomes, including pulling your own reports in tools such as SQL, Tableau, or Mixpanel.
- A track record of working with engineering, operations, and other partners to land launches and surface risks early.
- Strong written communication, including the ability to document decisions clearly for technical and non-technical readers.
- Curiosity about fraud, risk, and payments, and a willingness to learn how analysts make review decisions and how customers experience them.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with onboarding, identity verification, KYC/KYB, or trust and safety experiences in a consumer or SMB product.
- Experience building tools for internal users such as operations, support, or risk analysts, including case management or queue-based workflows.
- Background in fintech, payments, fraud, identity, or risk products.
- Experience with AI-assisted or agent-based workflows, either building them or using them daily.

About this role
Bill.com's Risk Experiences team owns both sides of a critical moment in the customer journey: the customer-facing flows that explain holds, verification steps, and limits, plus Risk Central, the internal platform analysts use to review fraud alerts and manage cases. As Product Manager for this role, you'd own a defined slice of that roadmap—whether that's verification workflows, hold notifications, self-service resolution, or analyst queues—shepherding features from problem discovery through launch and ongoing iteration. You'd work closely with design, engineering, risk operations, and risk strategy to make risk moments faster and clearer for small businesses paying vendors and collecting payments, while helping fraud analysts review cases with fewer errors and less time spent.
The work balances competing demands: designing customer experiences that reduce friction without lowering fraud defenses, writing clear requirements and success metrics for engineering, and using data to decide what to build next. You'd define and track both customer-side metrics (verification completion, time to resolution, support contacts) and operations metrics (review time, error rates, queue backlog), run before-and-after analysis on releases, and draft half-year roadmaps with early risk flagging. The role also involves evaluating where AI tools or automation could resolve cases faster or remove manual analyst work.
You'll need at least two years shipping software end-to-end with engineering and design, comfort pulling your own data analysis, and strong written communication for both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with customer-facing multi-step flows, onboarding, identity verification, or KYC/KYB is valuable; background in fintech, payments, or fraud products is a plus. The position is fully remote and based in the US; visa sponsorship is not available. Salary ranges from $117,900 to $141,500.
