About this role
Accenture Federal Services is looking for a UX designer to work on digital products serving US federal government agencies, with a particular focus on accessibility and 508 compliance. You'd spend your time designing interfaces, creating wireframes and prototypes, and collaborating across product, development, and stakeholder teams to ensure seamless user experiences that meet strict accessibility standards. The role involves conducting usability testing, evaluating designs against compliance requirements using both automated and manual tools, and maintaining design systems and documentation in an Agile environment.
To be competitive, you'll need a bachelor's degree and at least two years of professional UX design experience, with demonstrated proficiency in tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD. Strong knowledge of 508 compliance and accessibility best practices is essential—not a nice-to-have. You should be comfortable articulating design decisions to cross-functional teams and understand responsive design and user-centered methodologies. The role requires the ability to obtain a secret clearance.
If you have experience with accessibility testing tools like Axe or WAVE, WCAG guidelines, usability research, or prior work in government or regulated environments, those would strengthen your candidacy. The position is full-time and in-office in Arlington, Virginia, with a salary range of $64,000 to $124,200 depending on location and experience.
