About this role
Cargomatic's West End Express location is hiring an experienced Customer Service Representative to manage day-to-day operations for port drayage accounts in the NY/NJ market. You'd be the primary contact for assigned customers, coordinating pickups and deliveries with dispatch while monitoring containers to keep shipments within free time and minimize per diem, storage, and detention charges. The role demands someone who can anticipate problems—tracking appointment changes, terminal conditions, and driver issues—and communicate proactively across multiple systems, including Trinium, to keep freight moving efficiently.
This position requires a minimum of three years in transportation or logistics customer service, with at least three years specifically supporting NY/NJ port drayage operations and one year hands-on experience with Trinium. You'll need a solid grasp of terminal operations, container moves, and drayage cost drivers, plus the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining meticulous documentation and follow-through on open issues.
The role is full-time, on-site in Dayton, NJ (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM), with pay ranging from $21 to $27 per hour based on experience. Cargomatic offers medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and paid time off. This is a fit for someone with deep drayage expertise who thrives on staying ahead of shipment problems rather than reacting to them.
