Role Summary

This is a highly cross-functional leadership role focused on building scalable growth systems—not managing traditional marketing channels. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Commercial, Data Science, Analytics, and Growth teams to develop frameworks, experimentation capabilities, and operating models that drive activation, engagement, retention, monetization, and long-term collector value.
The ideal candidate has experience scaling a complex marketplace, fintech, or consumer technology platform through rapid growth and understands how product innovation, experimentation, data, and network effects combine to create durable competitive advantages. This leader will establish the operating systems that transform growth into a repeatable, measurable, and scalable capability across the Fanatics Collect ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and lead the growth operating system, including planning frameworks, measurement systems, experimentation processes, and operating cadences.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to embed growth strategies throughout the collector experience, improving activation, engagement, retention, referrals, monetization, and cross-platform adoption.
- Build and scale ecosystem growth loops that connect products and experiences across the Fanatics Collect platform.
- Establish a best-in-class experimentation culture through A/B testing, incrementality measurement, cohort analysis, behavioral segmentation, retention modeling, marketplace analytics, and growth forecasting.
- Develop scalable frameworks to identify, prioritize, and measure high-impact growth opportunities across multiple products and business lines.
- Collaborate closely with Analytics and Data Science teams to improve decision-making through data-driven insights and predictive modeling.
- Serve as a strategic partner to Product, Commercial, Growth, and Data leadership, driving alignment and influencing cross-functional priorities.
- Define and monitor the key collector behaviors that contribute to long-term customer value and ecosystem participation.
- Foster a culture of continuous experimentation, learning, and operational excellence across the organization.
- Build and lead a high-performing growth organization capable of supporting the company's long-term strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Growth, Product Growth, Marketplace Growth, Growth Strategy, or related disciplines within consumer technology companies.
- Proven success scaling high-growth marketplace, fintech, ecommerce, SaaS, or consumer technology platforms.
- Deep understanding of product-led growth, customer lifecycle management, activation, engagement, retention, monetization, referral systems, and network effects.
- Extensive experience partnering with Product and Engineering organizations to build growth capabilities directly into digital products.
- Strong expertise in experimentation methodologies, A/B testing, analytics, forecasting, behavioral segmentation, and data-driven decision making.
- Demonstrated experience building scalable operating frameworks, growth systems, and high-performing teams.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to influence across cross-functional organizations.
- Experience with modern analytics, experimentation, and business intelligence platforms is strongly preferred.

About this role
Fanatics Collect is looking for a VP to build the growth infrastructure that will scale its collector ecosystem across multiple products and platforms. Rather than managing traditional marketing, you'd architect the operating systems, experimentation frameworks, and measurement capabilities that drive activation, engagement, retention, and monetization across Topps.com, Fanatics Collect marketplace, and live shopping experiences. This is fundamentally a systems and strategy role—designing how product, data, analytics, and commercial teams work together to create repeatable, measurable growth loops that leverage network effects and cross-platform adoption.
You'd need at least 10 years leading growth at high-velocity consumer technology, marketplace, fintech, or ecommerce companies, with a track record of scaling platforms through product-led approaches and rigorous experimentation. The role demands deep expertise in A/B testing, cohort analysis, retention modeling, and behavioral segmentation, combined with the ability to partner closely with Product and Engineering to embed growth thinking into the platform itself. You should be comfortable translating complex data into strategic priorities and building frameworks that work across multiple business lines and collector segments.
This is a full-time, in-office position in Los Angeles, reporting at the VP level within a 22,000-person organization backed by Fanatics' 900+ sports relationships and 100+ million fan database. The salary range is $224,250–$286,350.
