About this role

AREP's PowerHouse Data Centers division is seeking a Director to oversee the full lifecycle of data center development and construction projects—from entitlement and design through construction completion. You'd manage budgets, schedules, consultant and contractor relationships, and coordinate across design teams, engineering firms, public agencies, and capital partners. The role demands hands-on project leadership: preparing business plans and financial models, managing RFPs and construction contracts, tracking quality metrics, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Based at the Irving, TX project site with at least 25% travel to the Washington DC headquarters and potential expansion to other project locations.

This position suits someone with 10+ years managing complex commercial construction projects, ideally in data centers or mission-critical facilities with sophisticated MEP systems. You'll need a strong foundation in construction management, engineering, or architecture; fluency with financial modeling and scheduling software like Primavera P6; and the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and draft construction agreements. Beyond technical expertise, the role calls for someone who can lead cross-functional teams, solve problems independently, and communicate clearly with executives, consultants, contractors, and government officials.

The contract position offers a salary range of $215,000 to $240,000 and requires in-office presence. Success here depends on balancing detailed project execution with strategic thinking about budgets, timelines, and sustainability metrics specific to data center operations.
