About this role

Sploot Veterinary Care is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join their urgent care and general practice clinic in Highlands Ranch. This role centers on supporting the clinical team and creating positive experiences for both pets and their owners—from assisting with procedures and patient handling to maintaining clinic operations and helping clients feel confident in their pets' care. You'd work alongside veterinarians and technicians who are invested in your development, with access to modern equipment like laparoscopic surgery capabilities and AI scribe software.

The position requires at least two years of veterinary assistant experience, though emergency or urgent care background is a bonus rather than a requirement. You'll need a collaborative mindset, strong organizational skills, and genuine care for animal welfare. Experience or interest in dentistry or anesthesia is valued but not essential.

What sets this opportunity apart is the structure: 10–12 hour shifts with advance scheduling (minimum six weeks notice), no overnight work, and a genuine commitment to work-life balance. The compensation ranges from $20–$24 per hour with holiday pay, and the benefits package is substantial—including health, dental, and vision coverage with employer contribution, 401(k) matching up to 4%, PTO accrual from day one, paid parental leave, and notably, free or discounted veterinary care for your own pets. Sploot also covers the cost of passing the VTNE and offers semi-annual reviews with clear pathways into leadership roles.
