- Deliver assessments, interventions and reviews within educational settings to identify and address speech, language and communication needs.
- Work collaboratively with education, health and social care professionals to develop effective, child-centred support strategies.
- Support mainstream educational settings to reduce barriers to learning and improve participation, attendance and engagement for children with SEND.

About this role
Pulse Healthcare is recruiting a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist for a three-month locum placement at Wood Street Health Centre in London, working part-time or full-time on an immediate start. The role sits at the intersection of clinical practice and multi-agency decision-making, requiring you to deliver assessments and interventions for children with speech, language and communication needs while also providing specialist input to Education Inclusion Panels, SEND Panels and other forums that determine provision and support strategies.
You'll be expected to work across education, health and social care settings, collaborating with professionals from multiple disciplines to develop child-centred support and help mainstream schools reduce barriers to learning. This demands strong clinical expertise in assessing and treating SLCN and SEND (including autism and learning difficulties), alongside the confidence and communication skills to present professional advice in formal multi-agency contexts and contribute to service evaluation against local priorities.
The role suits an experienced Band 7 SALT with current HCPC registration, a track record of working in educational settings, and genuine comfort operating as an independent practitioner within complex systems. Hourly rates range from £20 to £32 depending on experience. This is a defined short-term contract rather than an open-ended opportunity, making it well-suited to those seeking flexible locum work or looking to test a new service area.
