About this role

Industrial Electric Manufacturing is ramping up production at a new facility in San Antonio and needs experienced Mechanical Assemblers to help build electrical distribution systems. This is a temporary, in-office role reporting to the Operations Manager. You'll spend your time reading technical drawings and specifications, then fabricating and assembling electrical components like circuit breakers, transformers, and switchgear into enclosures. The work involves precision measurement using micrometers and calipers, drilling and mounting operations, and occasional metal finishing—all while maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards.

The role demands at least three years of hands-on assembly experience and a strong mechanical aptitude. You'll need to interpret drawings independently, work quickly without sacrificing accuracy, and be comfortable in a shop environment that isn't climate controlled. Expect to be on your feet 95% of the time, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds, and bending or climbing as needed. This position suits someone with a solid work ethic who thrives in a startup mindset and is genuinely willing to pitch in wherever the team needs support—not someone looking for a narrowly defined job description.
