About this role

Walker Meadow Retirement Community in Chelsea, Michigan is seeking an ordained spiritual care leader to direct a comprehensive program serving residents, families, and staff through life's most significant moments. You'll oversee a team of chaplains and musicians while designing and delivering worship services, faith-based programming, and pastoral support tailored to people of diverse spiritual backgrounds. This role requires you to be both a contemplative presence during grief and crisis and an organizational leader shaping policies, budgets, and interdisciplinary partnerships that embed spiritual care into the community's culture.

The position demands substantial pastoral credentials and experience: a Master of Divinity degree, current ordination in good standing, and at least three years of pastoral ministry focused on older adults, plus two years coordinating spiritual programming. You'll work Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, with occasional Sunday services, in a full-time exempt role paying $60,000–$70,000 annually. The community offers six weeks of flexible time off yearly, medical and dental coverage, retirement contributions, tuition assistance up to $3,000 per semester, and other standard benefits.

This role suits someone called to elder care ministry who can balance direct spiritual accompaniment with team leadership and strategic program development. If you hold the required ordination and chaplaincy background and are drawn to creating inclusive, compassionate spiritual environments in a retirement setting, this director-level position offers both meaningful work and room to grow.
