About this role
Deterrence is hiring robotics engineers at multiple levels to design, program, and commission industrial robot workcells on its Dallas production line. The role is hands-on and execution-focused: you'll move cells from simulation through live programming, integrate robots with PLCs and safety systems, tune motion and accuracy for material handling or assembly tasks, and lead commissioning and production ramp. You'll also handle end-of-arm tooling design, safety validation to ISO and ANSI standards, troubleshooting, and technician training.
The position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline and production floor experience. At the Engineer level, you need 2+ years programming and commissioning industrial robots; Senior requires 5+. FANUC is strongly preferred (TP/KAREL programming), though KUKA or ABB experience is valued. You should be comfortable reading mechanical and electrical drawings, understand robot kinematics and coordinate frames, and have worked with PLC and safety system integration. Staff-level candidates additionally architect multi-robot systems, own robotics scope for equipment lines, and mentor other engineers.
This is an in-office role in Dallas. If you have production robotics experience and want to work through the full lifecycle of cell development—from layout and simulation to FAT and live troubleshooting—this is a direct fit. Preferred qualifications include FANUC certification, offline programming tools, machine vision integration, and background in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing.
