VP, Tech & Data Partnerships
The Opportunity
- This is an enterprise-level leadership role responsible for defining and leading the company’s technology, data, and AI partnership strategy.
- The role reports directly to the Chief Product & Technology Officer and will serve as the executive owner of the broader technology and data partnership ecosystem.
- This is not a traditional channel or alliances sales role. The focus is on partnerships that shape the product, strengthen the company’s data advantage, and extend the reach of the platform.
- The leader will help determine where the company should build, buy, partner, or potentially acquire capabilities.
What the Leader Will Own
- Set the company-wide strategy for technology, data, platform, integration, and AI partnerships.
- Identify a focused portfolio of high-impact partnership opportunities that can improve product differentiation, innovation, distribution, and growth.
- Build trusted C-suite relationships with priority technology platforms, data providers, cloud companies, and emerging AI ecosystems.
- Originate and negotiate complex, multi-year agreements covering product scope, data rights, intellectual property, economics, investment, exclusivity, and governance.
- Shape the external data strategy, including data coverage, quality, identity, signals, licensing, and differentiated data products.
- Influence product and platform strategy by bringing an external ecosystem and market perspective into company investment decisions.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to ensure strategic agreements translate into funded roadmaps, clear ownership, successful launches, and measurable customer adoption.
- Establish portfolio governance, performance measures, and an operating model that allows the partnership capability to scale.
- Build and develop a senior, globally effective organization over time.
Why the Role Matters
- The company’s advantage depends on connecting high-quality data, identity, and signals with the platforms, data environments, and AI ecosystems where customers already work.
- These partnerships are viewed as a company-level lever for product innovation, differentiation, distribution, and growth, rather than simply a source of partner-sourced revenue.
- The successful leader will have significant influence over product direction, ecosystem positioning, investment choices, and how the company creates long-term strategic advantage.
What Success Looks Like
- In the first 60 days, assess the existing portfolio, market landscape, strategic gaps, team capabilities, active commitments, and role boundaries.
- By 90 days, develop an executive-ready technology, data, and AI ecosystem strategy with a concentrated set of priority bets, investment choices, executive sponsors, and Product and R&D commitments.
- Within six months, demonstrate visible progress on consequential partnerships, including signed or late-stage agreements with funded productization paths and clear measures of impact.
- Within 12 months, establish a focused portfolio producing measurable adoption, distribution, differentiation, and commercial impact, supported by trusted C-suite relationships and a scalable team and operating model.
The Profile That Will Be Successful
- An executive who has built or materially scaled a technology, platform, product, or data partnership capability.
- Someone who combines ecosystem strategy with enough technical fluency to engage credibly on architecture, APIs, data rights, identity, security, privacy, and AI.
- A sophisticated negotiator who understands partnership structures, economics, data licensing, commercialization, and joint product delivery.
- A strong cross-functional leader who can align senior Product, Engineering, commercial, legal, finance, and executive stakeholders around difficult investment and roadmap choices.
- Someone with a practical understanding of how AI, agents, and MCP are changing enterprise software ecosystems.
- A builder who can create the strategy, operating model, governance, metrics, and leadership team required for the capability to scale.

About this role
At 6sense, this VP role sits at the intersection of product strategy and business development—a seat with genuine influence over where the company invests and how it competes. You'd own the technology, data, and AI partnership ecosystem, reporting directly to the Chief Product & Technology Officer and working across C-suite relationships with major platforms, data providers, and cloud companies. This isn't a traditional sales or channel role; the partnerships you build are expected to shape product differentiation, strengthen the company's data advantage, and drive distribution and growth. You'll originate and negotiate complex, multi-year agreements covering product scope, data rights, IP, and economics, while helping determine what 6sense should build, buy, partner on, or acquire.
The role demands someone who has already built or scaled a partnership capability at an enterprise level, with enough technical depth to credibly discuss architecture, APIs, data licensing, identity, and AI. You'll need to be a sophisticated negotiator comfortable with partnership structures and data commercialization, and a strong cross-functional leader capable of aligning Product, Engineering, and finance around difficult investment choices. The work is concrete: within 90 days, you'll develop an ecosystem strategy with priority bets; within six months, you should have signed or late-stage agreements with funded productization paths; within a year, a focused portfolio delivering measurable adoption and commercial impact.
Based in San Francisco with an in-office requirement, the role offers a salary range of $258,165 to $340,642, plus bonus, stock options, and standard benefits including health coverage, parental leave, and generous PTO.
