About this role
ISG's Healthcare Business Unit is looking for a Medical Planner to lead the planning and programming phase of healthcare projects, working directly with physicians, nurses, and healthcare leadership to translate clinical needs into functional space solutions. You'll develop unit layouts, room configurations, and master plans that balance operational efficiency with patient-centered design, drawing on your knowledge of medical equipment, clinical workflows, and healthcare design standards. The role involves both deep analytical work—researching space utilization, analyzing service line data, and iterating on design options—and collaborative problem-solving across multidisciplinary teams and with external consultants.
This position suits someone with at least five years of healthcare project experience who holds or is pursuing architectural licensure and relevant credentials like EDAC or ACHA. You'll need strong technical skills in Revit, Office, and Power BI, combined with a solid grasp of building codes, Life Safety, ADA compliance, and evidence-based design principles. The role also includes mentoring other team members and contributing to business development, so leadership capability and communication skills matter as much as technical expertise.
Based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, this is a full-time in-office position with a salary range of $70,000–$135,000 and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical coverage, paid time off, an employee stock ownership plan, and profit sharing. You'd be working alongside recognized leaders in healthcare design and contributing to projects serving real communities across the country.
