About this role

ISG's Healthcare Business Unit is looking for a Medical Planner to lead the planning and programming phase of healthcare projects, working directly with physicians, nurses, and healthcare leadership to translate clinical needs into functional space solutions. You'd spend your time analyzing workflows and service line data, developing room layouts that account for medical equipment and operational requirements, and iterating designs across multiple options to reach the ideal configuration. This is hands-on work that bridges clinical expertise and architectural design—you'll be the person who ensures the building actually works for the people using it.

The role demands at least five years in healthcare planning or related architecture work, with Revit proficiency and a strong grasp of healthcare design standards, building codes, and evidence-based design principles. Architectural licensure and credentials like EDAC or ACHA are strongly preferred. You'll collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and stay current with emerging trends in healthcare design and LEAN strategies. ISG's recent projects—orthopaedic clinics, tribal health facilities, and community health centers—suggest a portfolio focused on functional, patient-centered environments rather than large institutional builds.

Based in Brookfield, Wisconsin, this is a full-time in-office position with a salary range of $70,000–$135,000 depending on experience. The firm offers standard benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), and 401(k) matching, plus less common perks like paid volunteer time and parking reimbursement.
