About this role

ISG's Healthcare Business Unit is looking for a Medical Planner to lead the planning and programming side of healthcare facility projects—work that sits at the intersection of clinical operations, architectural design, and strategic space planning. You'd spend your time analyzing how healthcare spaces actually function, partnering with physicians and operational leaders to understand their needs, then translating that into detailed layouts and room designs that support both patient care and workflow efficiency. The role involves research, data analysis, multiple design iterations, and close collaboration with architects, engineers, and consultants to move projects from master planning through design development.

This position requires at least five years in healthcare planning or related architectural work, a Bachelor's degree in Architecture (Master's preferred), and strong technical skills in Revit, Microsoft Office, and Power BI. Architectural licensure and credentials like EDAC or ACHA are strongly preferred. You'd need solid grounding in medical equipment planning, building codes and compliance, evidence-based design principles, and the ability to communicate complex planning concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders. The role also includes mentoring other team members and contributing to business development efforts.

You'd be based in Sioux Falls working in-office, part of a firm with a track record on substantial healthcare projects and a collaborative culture. ISG offers standard professional benefits—medical, dental, vision, 401K, and paid time off—plus an employee ownership structure that includes profit sharing and an ESOP, meaning you'd have a direct stake in the firm's success. The salary range is $70,000 to $135,000, though ISG indicates openness to discussion if your experience and needs fall outside that band.
