About this role
You'd be staffing a multi-channel support operation for a university research and public service office that works with state agencies and nonprofits across Tennessee. The role centers on answering a toll-free line and managing customer requests via phone, text, chat, email, and web—using cloud-based systems to handle call routing, queue management, and ticket documentation. You'll support users of custom applications built for the State of Tennessee and partner organizations, which means learning their specific software, policies, and workflows quickly and then troubleshooting issues through to resolution.
Beyond frontline support, you'd contribute to product improvement by testing custom applications and training materials alongside development and partner teams, offering feedback that shapes how these tools work for end users. The work requires strong written and verbal communication, comfort with Microsoft Office and Teams, knowledge of data security and privacy practices, and the ability to work independently from a Tennessee home office while staying aligned with state and university policies.
This suits someone with at least a year of professional technology experience who's comfortable learning new systems on the job and wants to work for a mission-driven organization. The position is full-time, hybrid, with an anticipated salary of $47,000. You'll need a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and legal authorization to work in the US.
