About this role

Horizon Industries, an IT and management consulting firm in the DC area, is looking for someone to lead and maintain their enterprise certification portfolio across CMMI, ISO standards, and CMMC Level 2 compliance. This contract role is hybrid—based in Vienna, Virginia with in-office days on Mondays and Wednesdays—and offers a salary range of $130,000 to $150,000.

Your core responsibility will be owning the full lifecycle of these certifications: managing appraisals and audits, conducting gap assessments, maintaining quality and security management systems, and ensuring the company stays audit-ready year-round. You'll also support the capture and proposal teams by documenting compliance evidence for RFP responses, coach internal teams on process requirements, and report certification status and risks to leadership. This role demands someone who can balance strategic program management with hands-on execution and stay current on evolving standards like DFARS and CMMC requirements.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree and at least seven years of experience in quality, compliance, or security program management—ideally in federal IT services. You'll need hands-on experience maintaining at least two of the major certifications listed above and a track record supporting external audits. Preferred qualifications include Lead Auditor certifications, CMMI credentials, CMMC professional certifications, or relevant security certifications like CISSP or CISA. Horizon offers comprehensive benefits including healthcare, a 401k with immediate vesting and employer match after 90 days, educational assistance, student loan repayment, and paid time off.
