Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is a plus.

  • Progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

  • Experience leading, mentoring, or developing an accounting team.

  • Experience supporting a multi-site, multi-state organization is highly preferred.

  • Healthcare, dental, or dental support organization experience is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal controls.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with accounting systems.

What Makes You Successful:

About this role

Specialty Dental Brands is seeking a Senior Manager, Clinic Accounting to oversee financial operations across their network of pediatric dentistry, orthodontic, and oral surgery practices. Based in Nashville with a hybrid schedule of three days in office and two remote, this role centers on leading month-end close activities, reviewing journal entries and reconciliations, analyzing practice financial statements, and investigating variances to help practice leadership understand their results. You'll also coordinate audit requests, maintain financial documentation, and work across Finance, Operations, and practice teams to resolve accounting issues and answer questions.

The position requires progressive accounting experience including hands-on responsibility for close and reporting processes, ideally with exposure to multi-site or multi-state operations. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is expected, and a CPA is preferred. You'll need solid technical skills in Excel and accounting systems, along with a strong grasp of GAAP and internal controls. Beyond technical competency, the role demands leadership capability—you'll be coaching and developing accounting team members, identifying process improvements, and helping strengthen internal controls as the organization grows.

Success in this role hinges on both accounting rigor and interpersonal strength. You should be detail-oriented and follow through on priorities, but also approachable and genuinely invested in your team's development. The ability to translate financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-accounting stakeholders is essential. Healthcare or dental support organization experience is valued but not required. Specialty Dental Brands offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits including health and dental coverage, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and a collaborative culture centered on professional growth.
