Riverbank Animal Hospital is a hiring full-time Veterinary Assistants to work alongside our team of experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and devoted support staff to ensure each animal receives the best possible care during their stay with us. Salary: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday- Friday 8AM-7PM with one day off during the week
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
- Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples
- Administer medications and vaccinations under the supervision of a veterinarian
- Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits
- Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting is required.
- Technical know-how in areas such as disinfection, administering medication, and using diagnostic equipment.
- Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.

Riverbank Animal Hospital, part of Veterinary Practice Partners' network of 180+ clinics, is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering medical and surgical care to dogs and cats. You'll work Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 7 PM, handling a mix of clinical and support duties: assisting during exams and procedures, safely restraining animals, preparing and sterilizing treatment areas, collecting lab samples, administering medications under veterinary supervision, and maintaining medical records. The role also includes animal care tasks like feeding and exercise, client communication about treatment plans, and keeping the clinic clean and well-stocked.
This position requires prior veterinary experience and practical knowledge of disinfection, medication administration, and diagnostic equipment. The salary ranges from $13 to $15 per hour based on your skills and background.
