About this role

Leading the design and delivery of protection and control systems for high-voltage substations, this role at ISG places you as the senior technical authority on complex relay and controls projects for FirstEnergy. You'll own the full spectrum of design deliverables—from one-line and three-line diagrams through AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts—while ensuring every design meets IEEE, NESC, and client standards. The position demands both depth in solving intricate engineering challenges and breadth in coordinating across substation physical, civil, and structural teams, as well as external stakeholders.

With eight or more years of consulting or substation engineering experience and a BS in Electrical Engineering, you'll be expected to mentor junior staff, serve as the primary technical contact for clients, and drive continuous improvement in design processes. Travel for site visits and client meetings is part of the role. ISG operates as an employee-owned firm with a one-profit-center model, meaning you'll draw on resources and expertise across all offices nationwide. The position is based in Philadelphia and requires in-office work.

Compensation ranges from $105,000 to $150,000 annually, with benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, paid parental leave, bi-annual profit sharing, an ESOP, 401(k), and various voluntary benefits. An Ohio PE license is preferred, though the company welcomes candidates who are working toward certification.
