About this role
ISG's Power Group is looking for a seasoned engineer to lead the design and delivery of protection and control systems for high-voltage substations serving FirstEnergy. Based in Rogers, Arkansas, this senior role centers on developing comprehensive design deliverables—one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring layouts, and equipment specifications—while ensuring compliance with IEEE, NESC, and client standards. You'll tackle complex technical challenges, coordinate across multidisciplinary teams (physical, civil, and structural), and serve as the primary technical contact for clients on projects ranging from substation upgrades to facility rating work.
The position demands eight or more years of consulting or substation engineering experience and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; an Ohio PE license is preferred. Beyond design work, you'll mentor junior staff, review their deliverables, conduct training sessions, and drive process improvements. Travel for site visits and client meetings is expected, and you'll need a valid driver's license.
ISG structures itself as an employee-owned firm with a one-profit-center model, meaning you'll work across office locations and share resources with colleagues nationwide. The compensation range is $80,000–$120,000, supported by comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, bi-annual profit sharing, an ESOP, and a 401(k) plan.
