About this role
Walden Security is hiring Security Officers for a full-time position protecting industrial and commercial properties in Oak Ridge. You'll patrol client facilities—ranging from office buildings and hospitals to manufacturing plants and financial institutions—working either second or third shift on a rotating weekend schedule. The role involves vehicle patrol in a company-owned vehicle, so you'll need a valid driver's license, a clean driving record (no more than one violation in the past five years), and be at least 25 years old.
The critical requirement is that you must already hold an active DOE Q clearance; Walden Security cannot sponsor you for one. If you have Q clearance reciprocity pending, you'll start at $19.14 per hour and move to $29.24 once reciprocity is complete. You'll need a high school diploma or GED, pass a background check and drug test, and be willing to pursue your Security Officer Certification through Walden's training program.
Beyond base pay, the company offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k, paid time off for those averaging 32+ hours weekly, tuition reimbursement, and an employee family scholarship program. You'll also have access to perks including discounts on phone, auto, and retail services, plus an employee assistance program. Walden emphasizes internal promotion and recognition through bonuses and awards.
