Description

Power the future of space at Star Catcher

Star Catcher is building the first energy grid in space to power the orbital economy.

Today’s spacecraft must generate all of their own power, which caps what they can do and how long they can operate. But what if they could “plug” into a grid, the way buildings do on Earth? Instead of cables and outlets, Star Catcher is building the technology to wirelessly beam energy to spacecraft’s existing solar panels when and where they need it.

Be an early member of a team building an entirely new energy infrastructure at scale to power the next frontier.

Star Catcher Industries, Inc., located in Jacksonville, Florida, has an opportunity for a Project Scheduler to support the development of space-to-space power beaming spacecraft and the Star Catcher Network, its orbital power grid. This role will be responsible for analyzing, planning, and executing design and implementation of systems or components used on spacecraft, satellites, and other space-related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, build, and maintain integrated project schedules from project initiation through closeout, ensuring all activities, milestones, and dependencies are accurately captured and in coordination with cross functional teams.
  • Perform critical path analysis to identify activities that drive project completion and highlight areas of schedule risk.
  • Analyze schedule variances and delays, determine root causes, and recommend recovery strategies or workaround options to keep projects on track.
  • Evaluate the schedule impact of proposed scope changes, change orders, and unforeseen events, and support time-impact analyses and claims as needed.
  • Facilitate planning activities, including system schedule generation, updates, resource coordination, and change management processes.
  • Collaborate with project leadership, technical teams, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to collect project data and ensure alignment on project objectives.
  • Interface with suppliers, contract manufacturers, launch providers, and customers to ensure deliverables track to project schedule delivery.
  • Maintain project documentation, records, and reporting systems to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • As needed, prepare and present program status updates, technical documentation, resource forecasts, and executive-level reports to leadership.
  • Experience with hardware development lifecycles, including design, manufacturing, integration, testing, and deployment of engineering systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting project planning, scheduling, cost control, or project management activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret project as well as technical data to identify trends.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Asana, Agile, or equivalent platforms.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with project or product development within aerospace, defense, robotics, or other high-technology industries.
  • Experience supporting spacecraft, launch vehicle, satellite, payload, or ground systems programs.
  • Familiarity with NASA, DoD, FAA, or commercial space industry standards and regulations.
  • PMP or similar project/program management certification.

About this role

Star Catcher is developing wireless power-beaming technology to create the first energy grid in space, and this contract role in Jacksonville will put you at the center of that infrastructure build. As Project Scheduler, you'll own the full lifecycle of project planning and execution—building integrated schedules, running critical path analyses, managing scope changes, and keeping complex spacecraft and satellite programs on track from design through deployment. You'll work across engineering teams, contractors, launch providers, and customers to align everyone on timelines and surface risks before they become problems.

This position demands someone with a solid engineering or project management foundation and at least three years in planning, scheduling, or program management. You'll need to be comfortable with project management tools like Jira or Microsoft Project, strong at reading technical data to spot trends, and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. Hardware development experience—particularly in aerospace, defense, or space systems—is strongly preferred, as is familiarity with industry standards from NASA, DoD, or the commercial space sector.

The role is in-office in Jacksonville and offered as a contract position. Star Catcher provides medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, and paid parental leave. Note that this position requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency due to ITAR export regulations governing space technology.
