  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and cross-functional teams to support pharmaceutical development and packaging-related initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.

  • 3–5 years of hands-on laboratory experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry.

  • Strong foundation in chemistry with demonstrated practical experience performing wet chemistry techniques and laboratory testing.

  • Experience with analytical testing, experimental design, sample preparation, and laboratory instrumentation.

  • Ability to independently execute laboratory experiments, troubleshoot testing challenges, and interpret results.

  • Strong analytical skills, including data analysis, integration, interpretation, and technical documentation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex scientific findings.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple laboratory priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with pharmaceutical packaging, container closure systems, or packaging engineering.

  • Knowledge of Lipid Nanoparticles (LNPs), surface adsorption, or drug-container interactions.

  • Familiarity with Container Closure Integrity Testing (CCIT) or related analytical method development.

  • Experience performing Interfacial Tension (IFT) measurements.

  • Experience with Break Loose Glide Force (BLGF) testing or syringe performance characterization.

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical formulation development, material compatibility, or surface characterization.

About this role

Verista is looking for a chemist with 3–5 years of hands-on laboratory experience to join their Indianapolis team and support pharmaceutical drug-container interaction studies. The role centers on evaluating how drugs interact with packaging materials—particularly lipid nanoparticles and container closure systems—through wet chemistry experiments, analytical method development, and specialized testing like Interfacial Tension measurements and Break Loose Glide Force assessments. You would design and execute laboratory protocols, analyze experimental data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and communicate findings to cross-functional teams of scientists and engineers.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field and a strong foundation in wet chemistry techniques, analytical testing, and experimental design, ideally gained in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device setting. You'll need to work independently, manage multiple laboratory priorities, and maintain meticulous documentation in a regulated environment. Prior experience with pharmaceutical packaging, container closure systems, or GMP compliance is highly desirable and would strengthen your candidacy.

Verista offers competitive compensation ($69,300–$102,623), comprehensive health and retirement benefits, tuition reimbursement, and a collaborative, growth-oriented culture within a 500-person firm serving major life sciences clients. The role is full-time and based in-office in Indianapolis.
