About this role
Ambition Institute is seeking an Executive Director for Technology and Resources to join its leadership team and help scale its impact across education. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will sit on the Executive Committee with strategic responsibility for the charity's direction, performance and sustainability. Your specific remit brings together technology leadership, financial oversight and people functions—overseeing experienced Directors in each area while contributing to organisation-wide decisions and advising the Board on significant choices.
The role calls for someone with proven track record in technology strategy and transformation, ideally with experience of platforms or services serving large external user communities. You will shape how technology supports professional development for tens of thousands of educators, evaluate opportunities in learning platforms, data, AI and automation, and identify practical improvements that strengthen both internal capability and delivery partnerships. Beyond technology, you need sound commercial and financial judgement, the ability to manage risk thoughtfully, and skill in bringing together people with different expertise through periods of change. The charity explicitly welcomes applicants from commercial, public sector or charity backgrounds; education or finance sector experience is not required, nor are formal qualifications in Finance or HR.
This is a London-based hybrid role at £120,000 per annum, offering 25 days' leave plus bank holidays, an 11% pension contribution, wellbeing support and professional development opportunities. The application deadline is 1 November 2026.
