About this role
Re:Build Manufacturing's Denver composites operation is looking for an R&D engineer to own the development of advanced thermoplastic molding processes and prototype tooling. This is a hands-on role where you'll move between the lab and shop floor, designing molds in SolidWorks, testing new equipment and materials, and troubleshooting real molding challenges as they arise. You'll manage multiple R&D projects independently while collaborating with technical teams across Re:Build's sites and coordinating with external vendors.
The position suits someone with at least five years of thermoplastic processing experience—whether in thermoforming, injection molding, compression molding, or composites—who combines strong technical fundamentals with practical problem-solving ability. You'll need solid SolidWorks skills, hands-on familiarity with molds and molding equipment, and the ability to document and validate processes rigorously. A background in materials science, FEA simulation, or emerging composites technologies would strengthen your candidacy, as would prior R&D or advanced manufacturing experience.
This is a contract position based full-time in Commerce City, Colorado, with a salary range of $92,000 to $137,000 and eligibility for incentive compensation and benefits. Re:Build offers employee ownership stakes across the company, and the role sits within a fast-paced environment focused on revitalizing US manufacturing across aerospace, defense, automotive, and other industrial sectors.
