The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician. In this role you will support the efficient Electrical and Mechanical maintenance operations of an oil terminal in a port environment.
You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic equipment faults
- Ensure all engineering work is carried out in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation.
- Maintain accurate and organised records of your work, both written and electronic.
- Updating computer maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Maximo and Agility.
- Liaise with the relevant technical and local managerial staff e.g. Terminal Supervisor, Terminal Manager and Group Maintenance Manager in the resolution of defects, changes in the operation of specific plant items or to provide information in response to a maintenance alert
- Undertake maintenance of LV distribution small power and lighting, emergency lighting and fire alarm testing

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- QQI Level 6 Craft Electrical Qualification, or equivelant
- Compex Electrical qualification or willingness to work towards
- Experience in a similar role post registration in an industrial environment.
- Proof of registration with governing bodies or safety watchdogs like Safe Electric.
- Drivers licence

About this role
px Group is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to support electrical and mechanical operations at an oil terminal in Limerick's port environment. The role involves diagnosing faults across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic equipment, conducting maintenance on LV distribution systems, lighting and fire safety systems, and maintaining detailed records in computerised maintenance management systems like Maximo and Agility. You'll work closely with terminal supervisors, managers and maintenance teams to resolve defects and respond to maintenance alerts, all within strict health and safety compliance requirements.
The position requires QQI Level 6 Craft Electrical qualification or equivalent, Compex Electrical qualification (or willingness to obtain it), and proven post-registration experience in industrial maintenance environments. Registration with a governing body such as Safe Electric is essential, as is a valid driver's licence. You'll receive personalised on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring, with twice-yearly performance reviews to support your development.
