What You Bring:
- Previous experience as Software Engineer in the game industry, using Unreal Engine
- Demonstrated proficiency in C++
- Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software methodologies
- Strong working knowledge of version control systems and workflow strategies (GitHub, Perforce/Helix Core, Git-flow, branch management)
- Good communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative environment

- Performance profiling and optimization experience
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5 version and above
What We Offer You:
- Competitive salary and discretionary annual bonus scheme

About this role
Zynga's NaturalMotion studio in London is building a new, unannounced mobile action game and seeking a Client Generalist Software Engineer to join a distributed, collaborative team. You'll work across gameplay, meta, and core technology systems using Unreal Engine 5, owning features end-to-end rather than specializing in a single area. The role demands comfort moving between different technical domains and clear communication with design and backend partners—the team prioritizes your willingness to learn over expertise in every area, and will mentor you as you grow.
You'll need solid experience as a game engineer with Unreal Engine and demonstrated C++ proficiency, along with a strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and software practices. Version control workflows (GitHub, Perforce, Git-flow) and collaborative communication skills are essential. Mobile game development experience and familiarity with performance profiling are valued additions. Your responsibilities include designing and developing features, building tools for engineers and content creators, scoping tasks and systems, and triaging bugs.
The position is hybrid, requiring two days per week in the London office. NaturalMotion offers competitive salary with annual bonus, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, comprehensive benefits including private medical and dental insurance, pension matching, and mental health support. The studio has been recognized eight consecutive years as one of the UK's best places to work in games.
