About this role
At The Ritz-Carlton's Bangalore property, the Financial Controller serves as the strategic financial leader responsible for translating brand service strategy into profitable operations. You'll analyze financial data and market trends to inform annual budgets, monitor actual performance against projections, and develop initiatives to improve profitability while safeguarding assets through robust controls. This role requires balancing detailed accounting oversight—ensuring accurate P&L reporting, tax compliance, and audit management—with broader business strategy that aligns property performance to owner expectations and ROI goals.
Leading a finance and accounting team is central to the position. You'll communicate strategic priorities clearly to staff, hold them accountable for results, and develop team members based on their strengths and career aspirations. Equally important is your ability to influence the executive team and advise the General Manager on financial and operational issues, presenting complex financial concepts in ways that drive decision-making across the property.
The role requires a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field plus two years of professional experience in finance or accounting, or alternatively a master's degree in one of these disciplines. Success depends on strong analytical skills, leadership presence, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and operational control.
