A Behavioral Technician (Internal title: Community Living Instructor) provides support to adults with behavioral health needs in a residential or community setting.

In this role, you’ll ensure the safety, well-being, and daily success of the individuals we serve. You’ll provide hands-on support with daily living skills, social engagement, behavior management, and more — all while helping create a safe, structured, and encouraging environment.

  • Assist with rehabilitation and behavior support programs
  • Monitor and document changes in behavior, mood, or physical condition
  • Provide basic care, such as taking vital signs and assisting with personal needs
  • Administer medication once certified as a Level 1 Medication Aide (training provided)
  • Transport clients to appointments and community activities (driving is required)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment
  • Participate in emergency response and safety procedures
  • Complete documentation accurately and on time

• A valid unrestricted driver's license at the time of hire with the ability to obtain and maintain a class E MO driver's license by the end of 60-day introductory period required
• Basic computer skills required

You'll Be a Great Fit for This Role If You:
  • Enjoy working directly with people and making a positive impact
  • Are calm, patient, and adaptable in a fast-paced or changing environment
  • Have strong communication skills and work well on a team
  • Are comfortable assisting with basic care and household responsibilities
  • Have prior experience as a CNA or CMA

About this role

Compass Health Network is seeking a Behavioral Technician to work weekends at their Monroe Estates residential facility, supporting adults with behavioral health needs in their daily lives. This part-time role runs Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 9pm (24 hours weekly) and involves hands-on assistance with life skills development, behavior support programs, personal care, and community engagement. You'll monitor residents' well-being, maintain documentation, transport clients to appointments, and help create a safe, structured environment where people can build independence and reach their goals.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of work experience, and a valid unrestricted driver's license (with the ability to obtain a Missouri class E license within 60 days). Basic computer skills are essential. You'll receive training to become a Level 1 Medication Aide, which allows you to administer medication as part of your duties. Prior experience as a CNA or CMA is valued, though not required.

This role suits someone who is patient, calm under pressure, and genuinely motivated to help others. You should be comfortable with direct personal care, able to communicate clearly with both residents and team members, and willing to participate in emergency procedures. The $19/hour wage makes this a good entry point into behavioral health or social services work, particularly if you're building experience in psychology, counseling, or related fields.
