About this role
At The Ritz-Carlton's Houston location, this full-time dining room attendant role centers on maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, organization, and service presentation that define the brand. You'll handle closing procedures—storing goods, breaking down equipment, deep cleaning, and securing the space—while also setting up and restocking work areas throughout the day. A significant part of the job involves inspecting china, glassware, and silverware before service and keeping work areas spotless using clean-as-you-go practices.
The role demands physical stamina and capability. You'll be on your feet for entire shifts, moving between different areas, lifting items up to 50 pounds, and navigating stairs and service ramps. Fine motor skills matter when handling delicate tableware, and you'll need to read small print on checklists and labels. Beyond the physical demands, the position requires professionalism in appearance and communication—greeting guests warmly, speaking clearly, and answering phones with proper etiquette—as well as reliability in following safety protocols, maintaining confidentiality, and working collaboratively with your team.
No prior dining or hospitality experience is required, making this a viable entry point into luxury hotel operations if you're comfortable with physical work, attention to detail, and the standards of a high-end establishment.
