About this role

Working on shift at Enviva's Hamlet facility, you'd be the electrical troubleshooter keeping a wood pellet production plant running smoothly. You'll diagnose and repair electrical systems, controls, and related mechanical equipment across the operation, working closely with the maintenance team to handle everything from VFDs and motor controls to PLCs and instrumentation. Beyond hands-on repairs, you'll analyze production data, manage work orders, monitor equipment performance, and drive improvements in safety, uptime, and efficiency metrics—making you a technical problem-solver who bridges electrical expertise and operational awareness.

The role demands at least four years of electrical experience and two years in manufacturing, with demonstrated competence in high-voltage systems (480V to 4160V) and the ability to read blueprints and follow electrical codes. You'll need strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, solid computer literacy, and the physical capability to work in an industrial environment—climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and tolerating heat, cold, and noise over twelve-hour shifts. Experience with PLC programming, automated controls, or wood products manufacturing would set you apart, as would prior leadership or supervisory experience.

This is a full-time, in-office position requiring shift availability, including evenings, weekends, and overnight work as needed. The job is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
