About this role

Skilled Wound Care is recruiting Emergency Medicine physicians in Brentwood to transition from traditional ED work into wound care practice within skilled nursing facilities. The role centers on procedural work—surgical and sharp debridement, advanced dressings, and bedside interventions—delivered in a stable, daytime setting rather than the rotating shifts and crowded environments of emergency departments. You would evaluate and treat chronic and complex wounds while following patients through their healing process, giving you clinical continuity rarely found in emergency medicine.

The position offers genuine schedule relief: Monday through Friday daytime hours with no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities. You'll practice with clinical autonomy based on patient outcomes rather than throughput metrics or satisfaction scores, supported by custom documentation software designed to minimize charting burden. Part-time and full-time arrangements are both available, making this suitable whether you're leaving shift work entirely or reducing your ED commitments.

Candidates need an MD or DO, an unrestricted state medical license, and DEA eligibility; prior wound care experience is not required. Compensation ranges from $200,000 to $300,000 annually, structured as per-patient and per-procedure pay with quarterly bonuses and no earning cap for independent contractors. Skilled Wound Care holds Great Place to Work certification and reports 95% of employees rate it as a great workplace.
