About this role

Guidepost Montessori is seeking a Head of School to lead their Evanston campus and drive growth for a network committed to expanding authentic Montessori education. In this role, you'll own the full operational and strategic scope of the school: developing a campus strategic plan, building enrollment, managing the budget to profitability targets, hiring and developing teaching staff, and fostering a strong culture among staff, parents, and children. You'll work closely with an Assistant Head of School and be accountable for ensuring every classroom delivers an exceptional educational experience grounded in Montessori principles.

This position suits an experienced early childhood education leader with director-level experience, strong organizational skills, and genuine passion for the Montessori method. You'll need the ability to make decisions with incomplete information, build warm and cohesive teams, and communicate clearly across multiple stakeholder groups. Prior teaching experience in early childhood settings or familiarity with Montessori pedagogy is preferred, though the core requirement is demonstrated leadership capability and commitment to the organization's mission.

Guidepost offers a competitive salary of $80,000–$93,000 plus bonus, comprehensive health benefits, paid time off, and a 75% tuition discount for two children across their network of schools serving ages 3 months through 6 years. You'll also gain access to ongoing professional development and a network of peer leaders sharing best practices.
