Description
Company Overview
Ambiq is on a mission to enable intelligence everywhere — powering the AI edge revolution with the world's lowest-power semiconductor solutions.
Built on our proprietary sub- and near-threshold technology, our chips deliver multi-fold improvements in energy efficiency without costly process scaling. Since 2010, we've shipped over 300 million units to customers building smarter wearables, medical devices, IoT products, and AI-powered edge applications.
Our cross-functional teams span design, research, development, production, marketing, sales, and operations across Austin, Hsinchu, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Singapore. We move fast, tackle hard problems, and create space for people to grow through complex, meaningful work that shapes the future of technology.
We're looking for self-motivated, creative problem-solvers who are eager to push technological limits and make a real impact in energy efficiency.
At Ambiq, we live by five values: Innovate. Collaborate. Focus. Learn. Achieve.
If that's you, join us — the intelligence everywhere revolution starts here.

Why Ambiq
About this role
Ambiq is seeking a senior analog IC design engineer to lead the definition and development of critical analog and mixed-signal subsystems across its ultra-low-power semiconductor portfolio. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll own complex subsystems from specification through production, working across power management, clocking, data conversion, and comparable functions in advanced process nodes down to 12nm. You'll design high-risk circuits at the transistor level, guide implementation and validation, lead design reviews, and serve as a technical resource to experienced engineers across the organization—all while directly influencing power consumption, performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
The role demands at least eight years of analog or mixed-signal IC design experience with multiple completed silicon cycles, deep expertise in transistor-level design and verification, and hands-on familiarity with post-silicon bring-up, characterization, and manufacturing test. You'll need strong fundamentals in analog layout, parasitics, matching, and advanced-node design constraints, plus the ability to lead architecture decisions across teams and mentor senior engineers. Experience in ultra-low-power or subthreshold design, work at 22nm or below, and exposure to MCU, wearable, medical, or edge-AI applications are valued.
This is a full-time, five-days-per-week onsite position in NW Austin, Texas. It suits engineers who want meaningful architectural influence, ownership of complete design cycles, and the chance to solve unusually difficult power-efficiency problems while remaining close to the circuits themselves.
