We are looking for a Senior Professional Services Consultant to join our team. This is a Remote (U.S., Eastern Time Zone / DMV area preferred) role reporting to the Sr. Manager of Professional Services in the Public Sector Professional Services team. As a Senior Consultant, you will build long-term, trusted advisor relationships with customers to deliver tailored security solutions. You will design and execute transformative security processes using Zscaler’s suite of products, ensuring our clients achieve a future-proof security posture while advocating for customer needs with cross-functional teams to influence product development.
U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to the nature of the assigned customer base.

- Design and execute solutions using Zscaler’s suite of products, including SDWAN, CASB, Shadow IT, and SaaS integrations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to envision and implement future-proof, transformative processes
- Advocate customer needs with cross-functional teams to influence product development
- Produce documentation, best practices, and demos to enable organizational growth
Who You Are (Success Profile)
- You thrive in ambiguity. You're comfortable building the path as you walk it. You thrive in a dynamic environment, seeing ambiguity not as a hindrance, but as the raw material to build something meaningful.
- You act like an owner. Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action. You operate with integrity because you genuinely care about the outcome. True ownership involves leveraging dynamic range: the ability to navigate seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
- You are a problem-solver. You love running towards the challenges because you are laser-focused on finding the solution, knowing that solving the hard problems delivers the biggest impact.
- You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback—knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust.
- You are a learner. You have a true growth mindset and are obsessed with your own development, actively seeking feedback to become a better partner and a stronger teammate. You love what you do and you do it with purpose.
What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within your functional domain
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to the nature of the assigned customers
- 8+ years of professional experience in network engineering, network security, or professional services
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related field

About this role
At Zscaler, you'd be advising public sector customers on zero trust security architecture, translating their complex network and security challenges into tailored solutions built on the company's cloud platform. This role sits at the intersection of deep technical expertise and strategic consulting—you'll design implementations across SDWAN, cloud access security, and threat detection while simultaneously advocating for customer needs back to product teams. The work demands fluency in network fundamentals (routing protocols, proxy technologies, SSL interception) combined with the ability to navigate ambiguity and build long-term advisory relationships.
The position requires 8+ years in network engineering, security, or professional services, plus a bachelor's degree in a technical field. You'll need U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust or DoD security clearance, with willingness to travel up to 40% and potential onsite work in the DC area. An active or recent DoD clearance and certifications like CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP would strengthen your candidacy, as would hands-on experience architecting SDWAN solutions or deploying AI-driven security tools.
Remote-based (Eastern Time preferred) with a salary range of $143,500–$205,000, this is a full-time role reporting to the Senior Manager of Professional Services. It suits someone who operates with ownership, thrives in complexity, and genuinely enjoys solving hard technical problems for mission-critical customers.
