About this role

Olsson is seeking experienced construction observers and inspectors to oversee aviation projects across the Midwest, primarily at airport facilities. The role centers on daily site observation, documentation, and verification that construction work meets project specifications, FAA requirements, and industry standards. You'll review submittals and shop drawings, support design and staking activities, coordinate materials testing oversight, and process payment applications—sometimes independently and sometimes as part of a larger team depending on project scope.

This position demands five or more years of hands-on aviation construction inspection experience and a solid grasp of FAA specifications. You'll need a bachelor's or associate degree in engineering, construction, or a related field, strong communication and teamwork skills, a valid driver's license with a clean record, and the commitment to travel constantly—the role is 100% travel based. Olsson provides a company truck, safety equipment, a laptop, and covers prescription eyewear and work boots. The company also offers fully paid training and a mentorship program to help you develop further.

The role suits someone who takes ownership of their work, values collaboration, and is energized by contributing to infrastructure that serves communities. Olsson backs this with competitive benefits including a 401(k) match, health and wellness programs, paid time off, and a performance bonus system. Candidates based in or willing to relocate to the Kansas City, St. Louis, Omaha, Lincoln, Tulsa, Springfield, Des Moines, Oklahoma City, Fayetteville, or Little Rock areas are encouraged to apply.
