We are looking for someone who enjoys being present and engaged with their team, building meaningful relationships, solving problems, and creating an environment where both people and exceptional patient care can thrive.

What You'll Do
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture between all hospital teams.
  • Partner with medical leadership to oversee daily hospital operations and achieve hospital goals.
  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop hospital team members.
  • Support DVMs and hospital leadership with administrative, HR, performance, and operational needs.
  • Monitor financial performance, labor costs, revenue, and key hospital metrics.

What We're Looking For
  • 3–5 years of leadership and management experience in veterinary medicine or healthcare required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience managing veterinarians, physicians, or other professional staff strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hospital operations, financial performance, and team development.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • A people-focused leadership style that balances compassion with accountability.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative medical environment.
  • A passion for supporting veterinary professionals and delivering exceptional patient and client care.

About this role

Lakefield Veterinary Group is looking for a Hospital Administrator to lead operations at their established Houston practice. You'd work closely with veterinary leadership to manage daily operations, financial performance, team development, and both client and employee experience. The role balances hands-on engagement with your team—recruiting, coaching, and supporting DVMs and staff—alongside oversight of scheduling, facilities, compliance, and strategic initiatives. You'll also identify operational improvements, manage financial metrics, and navigate employee and client concerns with both empathy and sound judgment.

The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of leadership experience in veterinary medicine or healthcare, with a strong preference for having managed veterinarians or other professional staff. A bachelor's degree in business, management, or healthcare administration is preferred, though a high school diploma meets the minimum requirement. You'll need solid financial acumen, excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical environment while maintaining a people-focused leadership approach that balances compassion with accountability.

This is a full-time, in-office position suited for someone who genuinely enjoys building teams and improving operations. If you're drawn to making a meaningful impact within a veterinary practice and see leadership as fundamentally about developing people and supporting medical professionals, this role aligns with that philosophy.
