About this role
Bluebird Kids Health is building a pediatric primary care model focused on underserved communities, and they're looking for a PA to join their Jacksonville team. You'd deliver comprehensive care to infants through young adults—handling routine wellness visits, diagnosing and treating common childhood conditions, ordering diagnostics, and prescribing medications. The role emphasizes both clinical work and health promotion, with significant time spent educating families on prevention, vaccination, and lifestyle choices.
This is fundamentally a collaborative position. You'd work under a physician agreement as part of an interdisciplinary team, coordinating with pediatricians, specialists, and support staff to manage patients' care. The organization operates on a value-based model, meaning outcomes and population health matter as much as volume. A master's degree and Florida PA license are required; prior pediatric experience is strongly preferred but the company explicitly welcomes non-traditional backgrounds and emphasizes passion alongside credentials.
The position is full-time and on-site in Jacksonville. Beyond clinical duties, you'd stay current with pediatric guidelines and research. The compensation is competitive with performance incentives, and benefits include medical/dental/vision coverage, paid time off, disability coverage, and various support programs. This role suits someone drawn to mission-driven work in pediatrics who values teamwork and wants to serve families in communities with limited access to care.
