About this role

Ascension's NICU float pool in Austin offers a full-time nursing role that requires flexibility across multiple specialty units rather than assignment to a single department. You'll deliver direct patient care to high-acuity neonatal populations, implement care plans based on physician orders, and serve as the communication hub among clinical teams—documenting observations and coordinating care to ensure continuity across disciplines.

This position demands at least two years of recent NICU experience with demonstrated competency in complex patient care, plus the ability to work autonomously in a rotating, multi-unit environment. You'll need BLS certification within your first month, NRP certification at hire, and a nursing diploma or current RN licensure. PALS certification is preferred. The role suits nurses comfortable with variety and independent decision-making across different units within a large nonprofit Catholic health system.
