About this role
Kelso Building Services is seeking an experienced HVAC Journeyman to diagnose, repair, and maintain large commercial chiller systems across the Houston and San Antonio markets. You'll work on complex equipment—air-cooled and water-cooled chillers in centrifugal, screw, and scroll configurations—alongside cooling towers, boilers, and related systems in commercial and industrial facilities. The role demands strong electrical troubleshooting skills across low and high voltage, the ability to read blueprints and controls schematics, and comfort working independently on everything from preventative maintenance to system commissioning and optimization.
This position requires an active TDLR HVAC Journeyman License, EPA 608 certification, and at least five years of commercial HVAC experience. You'll need hands-on capability with BAS/DDC controls platforms and willingness to travel occasionally within Texas. The company provides a vehicle, tools, and field technology, along with health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits plus PTO. Compensation is up to $42 per hour based on experience.
